Each year, this award is presented to a PAPA member who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to aerial photography, based on the following criteria:
The award, a commemorative piece in etched crystal, is presented at the PAPA International Annual Convention. The first award was bestowed in 2006.
The Epson Aerial Photographer of the Year 2009 award is Yves Tremblay, owner of Photo Helico from Magog (Quebec, Canada).

Lee Ross, PAPA President, presents Yves Tremblay with the Epson Aerial Photographer of the Year 2009.
This past year, Yves stood out from the crowd with an aerial shoot of a historic ship coming into the City of Quebec. His image made the front page of the paper, which was noticed by the Prime Minister of Quebec who purchased three framed pictures, one for himself and two to be presented to give as a gift to the French government. Yves is currently serving as PAPA’s Vice President of Programs and has served as PAPA’s International Director.
